Michelle Obama: Happy White House Life
To parents nothing can be happier than the whole family sitting together for dinner and being with your kids. And that's the two reasons Michelle Obama enjoys her White House life so much.
When she was interviewed by "People" magazine, to be published on March 9, the first lady revealed some family details since they moved into the White House a month ago. After Obama took office, he and Michelle took their two daughters Maria, 10, and Sasha, 7, to the White House at 1600 on Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington D.C.
After over a year's life on the road, living in hotels during the compaign, Michelle said that now they can sit down and have dinner with her family, talking events of the day. After dinner, Obama, as the president could also tuck the kids to bed.
Michelle said during the interview, "We have not had such good times for years. This is the reason I feel so happy now."
Mr. Obama and Michelle get up at 5:30 every morning to work out, and then they have breakfast together. After that, they start their own daily work. Michelle said, the success of their marriage lies in that the two of them can laught together, and that Mr. Obama can always keep his cool under pressure.
But Michelle does not think their marriage is a model and perfect one. "I do not want others to think it's that easy. The reason we have our marriage like today is because we have been truly managing it.... We have a sound marriage, but not perfect."
Michelle introduced that Mr. Obama has quit smoking. Maria and Sasha still do what they can, such as making their own bed and cleaning the room, doing the dishes.
She said, "People here all think that we're relaxed, but I have explained to you all, when you have kids, never spoil them. They're just kids."
Then how about the president promising their daughters a pet dog? Michelle said it was in the process, but it would be until May when the kids start their spring break. But right now, there's a problem, that is what name they should give the little puppy.
The daughters have already got a few good names, such as Frank and Muss, but Michelle does not plan to use those. She said, "I do not agree with them, so why not think it over some more.?

Court spokesperson Abdul-Sattar Bayrkdar said, that was a relatively lest severe verdict. But he will not file an appeal. By law, Muntadhar al-Zeidi could have been sentence to 15 years in prison. Last December 14th, at a joint news conference jointly held by former US president Bush's and Iraqi premier xxx, Muntadhar al-Zeidi hurled a shoe to Mr. Bush.
The lawyer said, considering that Muntadhar al-Zeidi did not have any criminal record, the judge did his best to be generous. But they hope that the verdict would be less severe, saying that Muntadhar al-Zeidi's act only constituted insulting instead of attacking.
The defending lawyer team member Yehya al-Eitabi said, "the verdict was too heavy, which was out of our expectation." The 20-member defencing lawyer team attended the hearing Thursday, and indicated that they would file appeal.
Some Baghdad citizens also held the same opinion.
Salam Omar, a cellphone store owner in east Baghdad, said, "al-Zeidi should be awarded honor, instead of being put into prison."
After the shoe hurling incident, al-Zeidi has been detained in Iraq. At the time it happened, Mr. Bush dodged and escaped the flying shoe, and was not hurt, al-Zeidi was immediately over-powered by guards and taken away.
