在赛马项目中,它的意思是“the winning of three races by a single jockey in one day”。在足球和曲棍球比赛中,它的意思是“the scoring of three goals by a single player in one game”。
与此同时,“hat trick”这个词组也用在棒球比赛中,通常指的是“hitting for the cycle”:the hitting of a single, double, triple, and home run by a single player in one game, an exceptionally rare achievement.
