本诗对仗很工整，也很押韵，如第一部分中：tears,years,kiss,this,且第二，四句为四个词，第六，八句是三个词，十分对称。诗开头即说明了"silence and tears",以后全诗多次重复，强调这两个词，加深了感情和表达力度，且末尾又出现了"with silence and tears"，前后呼应，更加深了主题。
