在这个宾语从句中，‘matter’是主语，‘is’是谓语(系动词作谓语)，‘with him’是is的表语。
而‘what(什么)’ 起修饰主语‘matter’ 的作用(当然，它也是宾语从句的引导词)
由于matter前面有修饰词what了，所以不用加定冠词the了追问
