胡服骑射(King Zhao Wuling’s Hu Fu Qi Se)
The policy of adopting Hu tribe’s clothing and learning their cavalry archery as the period when Chinese cavalry forces began to take its form, and a transition from chariots to cavalry began. This was a time when King Zhao Wulin of Zhao state (during the warring states period) often encountered defeat by the nomadic Hu tribes. In order to reform his army, he adopted the nomadic style of cavalry fighting and even ordered that his armies dressed in the nomadic armory and clothing. Such reform allowed his armies to defeat the nomads.
