感觉这句话好奇怪.一个妇人对一个修理完她家水管的工人说的,这个妇人的老公好像就是一个很厉害的管道工,具体我也不敢肯定.
She said,"Your prices are very high,aren't they?do you know,the doctor takes less than this when he comes to the house?“
"yes,I know,"answered the plumber."I know that very well,because I was a doctor until I was lucky to find this job a few months ago."
He leaves home at ten minutes to eight and he walks to work twenty minutes earlier.

妇人说 你的价钱太贵了,医生来这拿的钱都比你少.
水管工回答道 是的我知道.我太清楚了.因为我以前就是医生.直到我找到现在这份工作我才不做医生了.
意思就是,做医生的时候 他嫌钱太少,后来发现水管工挣的多 就改做水管工了
