Most of us cannot tell /v/ from /w/. The first word "very" should be pronounced as /veri/ while the second word should be /wel/ .But some people pronouce on the opposite, namely, they pronounce very as /weri/ and well as /vel/

Influenced by Putonghua, some people cannot tell /w/ from /v/. For example, in Chinese, although 晚上好 should be pronounced as "wan shang hao", some people especially those in the North will pronounce "wan" as "van". 我这个按你要求分析的单词发音受到的影响 不过分析得比较浅显。其实语音学这个东西太广了 不光单词，词组句子段落中还有很多这些问题，以前大一时开过这课，现在我都有些忘了。楼主要好好学 呵呵
还有一个单词 singer 这个单词 很多人都发错音了 但是百度上，不好打出音标，如果楼主是学英语的，相信你们老师会讲。
