1.当that后面加的句子是完整的句子的话，那它肯定是同位语从句，例如
He gave me the reason that he got up too late this morning.
2.当that 后面加的句子是不完整的句子的话（也就是缺少主语、宾语或表语时），那它就是定语从句了，例如
I believe the reason that he gave.
He gave me the reason that was unbelievable.(他给了我一个令人难以置信的解释

不一定，这要看句子的组成结构，
The reason that you told is misleading 你告诉我的原因是错误的-----这里就是定语从句了
The reason that she was died 原因就是她死了-----这就是同位语了
其实要说个笼统的就是说同位语从句里边that 两边是相等的，就是A is B ,B is A...the reason that she was died 其实就是 the reason=she was died
用这种方法就可以分辨出是否是同位从了。
