Some Tips to Release Stress

At some point, everybody will suffer from or just feel under pressure from work, study, lovers, family, health, beauty, etc. (e.g. worrying about how to get a promotion, how to be understood by your classmates, how to keep a good and fresh relationship with your lover, how to lead a better, more satisfying and happier life with your family, why you can’t sleep well, why you always feel tired, why your memory is getting worse, etc.) It is important to be able to release stress because stress will affect both your physical and psychological health. Below, there is a list of some tips to release stress, which I often put into practice and which have also become my hobbies.

1. Watch films.
I often go to the cinema to see the films which are worth seeing, and I often download films and TV serials from the Internet. I like Friends, Sex and the City, Lost, Prison Break, Gossip Girl, and Desperate Housewives. The TV serials are long, and while you watch them, you can improve your English in addition to killing time.

2. Do sports.
You can do some sports you like. I like climbing, playing badminton, and swimming. When I have time, I go climbing in the mountains, and I think climbing is the most relaxed and free way to be in contact with nature. I have been to Hengshan, Huashan, and the famous Yellow Mountain in China. Whenever I go climbing, I can lose weight, and it’s really a good way to keep fit. Above all, it's another way to understand things from a different point of view: looking at things from a high place can make you pick up details and see things in a different way.
.You can also join a fitness club to do some sports to keep healthy and socialize at the same time.

3. Practice yoga.
Yoga is a good discipline to learn to relax: deep breathing and light stretching can help you release your daily stress.

4. Travel in China and abroad.
Traveling is a good way to shrug away tiredness and annoyance. You can enjoy beautiful scenery and you can meet new friends during the trip.

5. Listen to music.
You can blow off your repressed emotions and release emotional tension through music. Sometimes, music helps me a lot. Some songs have touching lyrics that may strike a chord with you, and you’ll feel better..

6. Go Shopping.
I’m a workaholic, and I always use shopping to balance my life. Only shopping can make me feel satisfied.

7. Keep a pet.
You can play with your pet when you feel lonely, and even talk to it: pets are good listeners.

8. Enjoy entertainment.
Yes, watching entertaining programs is a good way to relax and release stress. It can help you laugh easily. You can also play cards, poker, or Majiang at home. You can go to KTV with your friends, or go to your favorite singer’s concert. You’ll forget the unhappy things and be in a good mood.

9. Go to a spa.
Spending a day at a spa is the best way to relax your body. You can then enjoy life to the fullest.

10. Play games.
Yes, playing computer games is another good way to release stress: you can compete in the games, and also, in some games, you can play a role in which you need to complete missions. It’s challenging and it takes time. It will take you to another reality in a world of fantasy, and I am sure it will help you forget your troubles in real life.
