动词为及物动词时，现在分词做定语时与动词是主动关系，这些词大多是可以由动词转变成形容的动词多，如：intereting,exciting等，如例：This is a surpring story.这是个令人惊奇的故事。
动词为不及物动词时，现在分词做定语时是表示正在行进的意思。如：1)The sleeping boy is Tom.=The boy who is sleeping is Tom.(注：现在分词单独使用时放被修饰名词之前）
2)The boy sleeping in that bed is Tom.=The boy who is sleeping in that bed is Tom.（注：现在分词后面有跟介词等不是单独使用时放于所修饰名词之后）
