at home 和in the home 区别
In the home, washing machines promised to free women from having to toil over the laundry.
请问老师，in the home 和at home有什么区别？
我认为：at home 用途更广泛，可用来指“在家”和“国内”且带有感情色彩。而 in the home 只能特指“在家”居住的这个固定的地方。老师您认为呢？

仅就at home表示“在家”这个意义而言，主语只能是某人。因为此时at表示的是某人做某事的地方，如工作、学习、休息、开会、看电影、乘坐飞机等等，暗示某人做某事。如at bank, at school, at home, at a meeting, at lunch, at airport, at the theatre, at war等等。不能说The washing machine is at home. 你提问的句子主语是洗衣机，当然不能用at home了。

区别如下
(1)at home带有一种感情色彩,使用比较广泛,是泛指,可以独立成文,介词后面不能再加其它限定词。
She educated her younger daughter at home.
她在自己家里教育她的小女儿。
You'll never see life if you stay at home forever.
如果你一直呆在家里，就永远不会有生活经验。
Come in and make yourself at home.
请进，别客气。
He was at home just now.
他刚才在家。
Please make yourself at home.

(2)in the home则在特定的情况下才能用,强调具体建筑物体的位置,带有特指的意思.介词后可以加其它限定词。
