should有if的意思吗

I would be hard-pressed to imagine how much pleasure and exitement tourism can afford us should all the culture differences between hosts and guests be eliminated.
我理解这句话的意思是“很难想象如果将主人和客人之间的文化差异消除掉，一切将会变得多么愉快。”
可是如果这么翻的话，那should就要变成if的意思了，是不是我翻译错了。
