1.Dear Chester:
How’s everything going?
Time flies! It is two weeks since you fell sick.I heard that you caught a bad cold and had a dry cough. We all were very worried about you.
Mike told me that you were recovering from your illness and planned to attend school yesterday.
We’re glad to hear that and we all miss you so much.We all know that you have been absent from school for 2weeks.So,in order to help you make up the missed lessons, the monitor and I will help you review our lessons and give you the revision outline. And the maths teacher will give you an extra class so that you can learn more knowledge. Therefore, don’t worry about your study.Believe it or not, you’ll catch up with the top students sooner or later.Just do it.Warmly welcome back!

Dear Mum and Dad:
Time flies!How’s everthing going?
It is 3weeks since I left home to attend college.Somehow, I miss you so much.Whenever I see the photo of us three,I can’t help crying. But please do not worry about me because I have adapted to the life in college and I enjoy it so much.
Going to college for almost a month is a very enjoyable experience for me.I am very happy with the school hours in college because school starts around 9a.m and ends about 3.30p.m.This means that I have much time to do something I like .I often go to library to do some more reading to improve my English and I make friends there.
In college,I have many teachers and they each teaches only one subject. My favourite teacher is Mr.Green who teaches us English literature. In our class, there are 36 students. This is about the average size in College. We have to move to different classrooms for different calsses. However, I find homework is not as heavy as what I used to get in my high school, but it is a bit challenging.I feel lucky as all my teachers are very warm-hearted.
Please believe me that I will work hard to earn respect from others.

Dear Tom,
I've received your last letter that you informed me your will visit China next month. I am so glad that we will meet in my country. You asked me about the places which are beatiful and full of Chinese culture. So I would like to introduce some places of interest to you.
Beijing is a wonderful place you should visit. There are many places of interest such as Summer Palace, Great Wall, Temple of Heaven and so on. If you come to beijing, you will have more chances to feel Chinese culture because Beijing is a traditional city and different cultures concentrate there.
There are two useful tips for you. First, you'd better book hotel room before you arrive Beijing as October is traveling season. Second, there are some telephone number you should remember: 110 Police, 120 Hospital, 114 Hotel Booking.Have a good trip.
And in 2010, The World Expo will be held in Shanghai. The World Expo has a long history but it has never been held in Asia.I hope that you can come back again so that we can visit the The World Expo together.Let us be volunteers in the Expo to help people all over the wolrd to learn more about Shanghai.
I’m sure you must be interested in what I have introduced to you.I believe I am a good guide to show you around and will let you experience the real culture of China.
PS: Please contact me if you are free. I hope we can have a nice supper together.
Yours sincerely,
Lihua
Dear Mrs.Zhang:
Time flies!How’s everything going?
To tell the truth,I’m writing to you to ask for some help about my English studying.
As for me, I have learnt English for many years. In times of difficulty,I usually consulted with my classmates. Thanks to them,I overcame difficulties when I wanted to give up.However,my classmates just like me also have difficulty in improving English.
So,I lists my quesitons as follows.
Firstly,I find writing in English very hard. What should I do?I know I should work hard at it.However,my vocabulary is so small that I can’t read novels in English.I ever tried to read China Daily but unfortunately,I failed.Whenever I met a new word,I could’t help looking it up in the dictionary.Slowly,I felt tired of it.
Secondly,I’m also afraid of speaking English to others.Let alone foreigners.I’m afraid that others would laugh at my pronounciation. So,how can I practise my pronounciation?
With time going on,I realize that communication plays an important role in the world and English is an improtant tool that we must master.
That’s all.I look forward to your help.
Yours sincerely
Lihua
