Summer Job
The summer job is a tradition among students of American universities. Long before the end of the school year, students begin their search for jobs during vacation ( June, July, and August).
Students send letters to businesses, talk to employers about job opportunities durlng the summer, and ask friends and relarives to be on the lookout for jobs for them. By June the students have usually
solved the problem and begin to make preparations for leaving their books to enter the business world.
Reasons for wanting a summer job are different from student to student. Some work to help pay their school expenses; others work to gain experience in their chosen professions; still others work just for the fun of it.
Typist, construction worker, salesman, lifeguard, and waiter these are some of the more common jobs that students try to find during the summer months. But many young people find work that is a little more unusual.
By doing part-time jobs, college students can gain some society experience and broaden their outlook. What’s more,part-time jobs can provide them with a valuable chance/opportunity to know the outside world

Some students think it is advantage for college students to take part-time jobs. Because, by doing part-time jobs, they can earn money on their own so that they don’t need to ask their parents for money, and in this way, they reduce their parents’ load. Besides, taking part-time jobs can help them gain social experience, develop personal abilities and make their life enjoyable.
One the other hand, some students have a disagreement. In their opinion, the students’ main task is to study, while taking part-time jobs has a bad effect on their study. And also, it may make college students change their life views and they may think too much of money.

1.the Advantages and the Disadvantages of Doing a Part-time Job
More and more students are doing a part-time job nowadays. Some students do the job during the vacations, some do it during school days.It is true that doing a part-time job is good for students. They can earn some money and achieve some experience which is needed when entering the society.
Hower, everything has two sides,a part-time job has some disadvantages. It takes some of a student's time that should be used for his study. If a student spends too much time on the job,he won't have enough time for his lessons, and he won't do well in his study.
To my mind,a pre-graduated student can do a part-time job,for he is going to leave school and enter the society,he has few lessons, and doing a part-time job can help him get a real job more easily.
2.Dear ***,
Hi,I am so glad to hear that you are permitted to enter college. That's great, and congratulations!I would like to give you some advice .First of all, there are some differences between the college life and the life in a middle school. In a middle school, your teacers are very strict with you,and give you lessons in detail, while your teachers in college won't be so strict, and they only give you a rough lesson. So you need to learn by yourself.Besides,a middle school student relies on his teachers and parents in his life, which differs from the life in college. It is essential for a college student to be independent. Finally, you should learn to get alone with your new schoolmates who come from the whole China.

Students' Part-time jobs
There are many advantages for a student to have a part time job. For instance, it helps him to realize that no success comes from nothing.
It enables him to be independent and builds up his self-confidence. Therefore, part-time jobs can get the students out of the ivory tower and give them the opportunity to know more of himself and of his personal value in society.
As everything has two sides, the disadvantages can't be ignored. Part-time jobs cut into students' study time; some even become so preoccupied with making money that they ca ‘t focus their attention on studying. In the end, the students may fall behind or fail in their studies.
In my opinion, students can choose to take up a job according to their own situation. The most important thing is for him to keep a good balance, put his study on top of the list and assign an adequate amount of time to it.
