    对于更名原因，广东纺院透露，现校名“已不能涵盖学院办学实际，更不能适应学院未来的发展需求”，校名中的“纺织”两字已制约该校全面发展。据悉，建校之初，该校确实主要围绕纺织服装产业设置专业，但随着社会发展需求，该校的专业群已得到拓展。
