两个都可以用，如果没有特定指哪首歌或音乐，则不用定冠词the，反之则要加the。
1.listen to music 是听音乐，这里的音乐是泛指，没有指定是哪一首，哪一类。
例：Some like to listen to music.有些则喜欢听音乐。
We can listen to music by radio.我们能通过无线电收听音乐。
Barbara White and her mother like to listen to music together, though their tastes don't harmonize. 尽管芭芭拉·怀特和她的母亲音乐品味不太一致，她们还是喜欢一起听音乐。
2.listen to the music 也是听音乐，但这里的是音乐是特指的，如某一首，某一种等
例：Who can tell me why i couldn`t listen to the music in my space .谁能告诉我，为什么我不能听到我空间里的音乐了呀？
A: Well, give me the walkman. I'll listen to the music then. 好吧，给我随身听，我听音乐好了。
We can also listen to the music what we like best or watch TV. 我们也能听音乐什么我们喜欢最好或看电视。
I listen to the music, I see the film, I do everything. 我听这音乐，我看这电影，我做了所有的事情仅仅想要记住这段旋律。
3.注意：加上the就是特指，两个说法都对，只是listen to music正规些，但口语中也时常出现listen to the music，不同环境下使用，
