pass 和pass on 有什么不同？

如果你只要区分“传”这个意思的话。那简单的说：
pass多这样用：
pass sb sth 如 Pass me the bread,please.请把面包递给我。
而 pass on 多这样用:
pass on sth to sb 如Pass on a massage to him for me.请替我给他代个信儿。
另外pass on 还有：转移（话题），往下谈，去世的意思。
