个人觉得，翻译成伴随状语的形式也未尝不可，因为伴随状语的特点是：它所表达的动作或状态是伴随着句子谓语动词的动作而发生或存在的。另外，“在操场上”习惯性翻译成“on the playground”不翻译成“in the playground”。

来个倒装，高级点
On the playground are the kids having a PE class.
在操场上一定要用ON 而并非是IN，一定要注意
楼上回答成IN的恐怕连初中英语都不过关。。。
