P> 1.有钱和没钱
如果说你“have money to burn”， 这个意思就是你有太多钱了，因为你把钱烧掉都无所谓!
另一个意思类似的词汇是 "have deep pockets" --口袋很深，也是说很有钱的意思。
例如：There's no point challenging them in court, they have deep pockets. 和他们打官司没用，他们太有钱了。
如果说一个人有短胳膊，深口袋(short arms and deep pockets)，那就说这个人很小气。说某人小气，吝啬，也可以用 cheap 或frugal.
如果说一个人生下来嘴里就含着银勺，意思是说这个人生在富贵家庭，因此从来不知道贫穷的生活是什么样的。
2.大手大脚和节俭花钱
你也许听到过父母这样告诉自己的孩子。
I'm not made of money! 我不是钱做的! 意思指自己并不是那么有钱，孩子老来要钱让他很生气。

平时注意积蓄，积少成多来买大件，办大事，在英语中可以说是 contribute to a nest egg。
如果你需要非常注意你的预算，一分钱掰成两半花，那就是 survive on a shoe string，和奢侈的生活刚好相反。

4.爱情还是金钱
不过生活可不都是为了钱!
如果说你做某件事是为了爱而不是钱--for love and not money，那意思就是说你做这件事主要是因为你喜欢它。
但是如果你说，不管是为了爱或是钱 (not for love or money)你都不会去做，那就是说你绝对不会去做这件事的。

例如： You've been talking about giving up smoking all year. Now it's time to put your money where your mouth is。
